Frequently Asked Questions
What are your COVID protocols?
We are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
In 2025 we have decided to finally ease off wearing masks, though in situations where close face to face contact is required, or during cold and flu season, we will continue to wear one.
Please stay home if you are sick or contagious.
How should I prepare for my treatment?
For first time patients, please make sure you have filled out the online intake form and email us if you have any questions about the treatment prior to coming in. Make sure you don’t come in on a completely empty or full stomach and drink plenty of fluids that day. Caffeinated drinks are not advised as the goal of treatments is to allow your body to “rest+digest” for optimal results.
What do you recommend after the treatment?
With any treatment, it is advised to rest for the remainder of the day if possible, and not do anything too strenuous for a couple of hours following treatment as you may feel fatigued post-treatment. After a cupping treatment, it’s important to drink plenty of fluids to flush out any toxins that were released during treatment.
Does acupuncture hurt? I’m scared of needles!
Acupuncture needles are so fine (as thin as a human hair) that even those afraid of needles find them tolerable, sometimes not even feeling them at all. If it’s your first time having acupuncture done, please let us know and we can adjust to your comfort level. Once the needles are in, the body starts relaxing and going into rest mode.
What are your payment options and do you provide direct billing for extended health insurance?
Yes, we do direct billing for most of the major extended health insurance providers including Pacific Blue Cross, Green Shield, Canada Life, Sun Life Financial, Manulife, and many more. For all other insurance providers, we will email you a receipt with the necessary information to submit the claim yourself.
We take debit and e-transfers as payments. There may be a 2% credit card transaction fee is you need to use Visa or Mastercard. We do not take Amex.
Do you take ICBC claims or MSP Premium Assistance?
We take ICBC claims but we limit the number of new ICBC patients we take. Please contact us prior to booking your first appointment.
We are not able to directly bill MSP for acupuncture.
